Located at 1619 Broadway and 49th Street in the city that never sleeps New York, a building exists like no other. The 60s gave birth to the Brill Building, THE birthplace of American Rock N Roll.
Just north of Times Square, this 175,000 square foot building WAS a magical place of wonder for the musicians, composers, record producers, labels, that worked, lived, and dreamed there.
In this sanctuary, you could write a song, make the round of publishers until someone bought it. You could then go to another floor and get a quick arrangement, book an hour at a demo studio, hire musicians and singers that around the building to the record companies, publishers, artist managers, or hung around and finally cut a demo of your song. Then you could take it ever the artist themselves. If you make a deal, there were radio promoters available to sell the record.
Some of the many writers and artists that created their works and impacted the music scene include Sonny Bono, Neil Diamond, Carole King, Neil Sedaka, Paul Simon, Liza Minelli, The Shrielles, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Dionne Warwick, Phil Spector, The Righteous Brothers, The Drifters, The Coasters, Bobby Darin, Paul Anka, Connie Francis, Ben E. King, Lesley Gore, and many many works.
Resnik Music Group is proud to announce it has purchased hundreds of released and unreleased songs from the archives of the Brill Building.
