While the world seems to have shut down for Coronavirus things, have been heating up for Resnik Music Group.
As promised, owner and operator Robert “Buddy” Resnik, is ‘Keeping the Music Alive” with several recent purchases.
Bentley Music was home to 200+ songs and include hits from George Hamilton(A Rose and a Baby Ruth) and was home to multi-million seller Andy Griffith’s ‘What It Was Was Football”. Colonial Records and Campbell Records were the highlighted labels of the purchase. Other Colonial hits were ‘Sittin’ In The Balcony’ by Johnny Dee, which reached #38 on the Billboard Chart; Doug Franklin the Bluenotes
‘Lucky Love’ was in the Billboard Hot 100. Several other songs included in the catalog were massive hits in their era.
Another purchase, ORIGINAL Music, contained over 600 songs and some of those massive hits include: The Harptones, “Sunday Kind of Love, The Crew Cuts “Hush Little Baby”, The Five Discs “Never Let You Go”, The Dubs “Just You”, The Corals “Puppet”, Jay Anthony “Earth Angel”, Ray Allen & The Upbeats “La Bamba”, and The Execellents, “Coney Island Baby”.
Larry Mercey Music, Elmira Music, and The Mercey Brothers Publishing marks the first SOCAN catalog to the Music Group. It’s 500+ songs contains 9 #1 hits, over 30 Top 10 Hits and spans from the 1960s to 1980’S from the Canadian supergroup, The Mercey Brothers. The group were seven-time Juno Award winners and have been inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame. Songs include “Whistling on The River”, “Uncle Tom”, “Who Drinks My Beer When I’m Gone”, “Old Bill Jones”, “Hello Mom”, “Who Wrote The Words” and many many more.
